Obituary of Margi Wilson

and James Robert “Bob” Wilson

 

Peacefully on May 25, 2021, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Margi (73) and Bob (72) Wilson of Cumberland, PEI.  Bob was the son of the late Jim & Ruth Wilson and Margi was the daughter of the late David & Jean Mutch.

They will be dearly missed by sons Scott (Trish) Wilson, Tony (Kerstin Musolf) Wilson, and daughter Nicolle (Dennis) Hogan and four wonderful grandchildren, Hannah and Sophia Hogan and Keira and Alex Wilson. Also survived by Margi’s daughter Suzanne (Karl) Banks and their children Brady and Cassidy Banks, Bob’s sister Heather (Dave) McCurdy, Margi’s brother Charlie (Alma) Mutch, and loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was a jokester, always having a smile on his face, and was a frequent golfer who worked in real estate for 28 years before joining the Provincial Government and retiring in 2009.  Margi was a kind and generous soul who always looked out for everyone else even up to her final days.  She was a rock to the family and a supportive lifelong partner to Bob in both home and business for over 50 years.  They loved their time in Rustico at the family cottage and in Alabama at their winter residence surrounded by family and great friends.

Thank you to the staff at the PEI Cancer Treatment Center, the many doctors that cared for both Margi and Bob at the QEH, and the excellent nursing care of Unit 3.

Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial service will be held for family and invited guests only at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford PE.  Interment will be held in Mount Herbert Cemetery. A video of the memorial service will be posted on the funeral home’s website LATER THAT EVENING FOLLOWING THE SERVICE.

Donations to the PEI Cancer Treatment Center of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital are encouraged, as well as offering a random act of kindness to commemorate Margi’s thoughtfulness of others.  No flowers are requested.
