Obituary of David MacPherson

Peacefully and surrounded by family at home on Saturday, August 26, 2023 the death occurred of Loyola “David“ MacPherson of Vernon River, aged 76 years.

Beloved husband of Jean (Maas), loving father of Deidre Smith (Ian) and John David (Marylou). Cherished grandfather of Abbey and Jacob Smith, and Grayson and Callum MacPherson. Dear son-in-law of Cornelia Maas. Survived by sisters-in-law, Leona MacPherson and Bernadette MacPherson  and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by parents, Mary (O’Keefe) and Bernard MacPherson; brothers, Don, Alfred and Francis; and precious grandson Gabriel MacPherson.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford from where visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River on Wednesday  at 10:30 am. Interment later in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made online to St. Joachim’s Cemetery Fund.
