Magdalene taught school for 40 years throughout Kings County. At the age of 60, she retired from teaching. Not one to rest on her laurels, she studied to become a Licensed Nursing Assistant and enjoyed many years of nursing.
When she officially retired in her late 70s, she continued using the knowledge from both of her careers through volunteer work. She assisted at Westwood Primary School as well as Hospice PEI.
Tutoring was an integral part of who she was and she made 'teachable moments' for everyone - particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Magdalene had a deep unshakable faith which got her through difficult times throughout her life.
