Obituary of Eileen Catherine Driscoll

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eileen Catherine Driscoll announce her passing on August 1, 2023 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, age 95 of Donagh.

Eileen was born in Donagh, Prince Edward Island on November 27, 1927, to Mathias and Catherine (MacDonald) Koughan. She was the loving mother of Fonc (Kay), Libby Dalton (Marvin), Bill (Tanya), Noel, Laura Gauthier (Keith), Joe (Heather) and daughters-in-law Elaine Driscoll and Bernie Driscoll; and grandmother of numerous cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.  Eileen is remembered with love by her sisters Rita McGuirk and Florence McNally.  Sister-in-law of Bernie Koughan.

 

Predeceased by her parents, husband Vernon Driscoll, sons Steve, Danny and Paul; grandson Jason; siblings James (Eleanor), Norman (Mary), Bill, Victor, Lillian, and brothers-in-law Ralph McGuirk and Leo McNally.

 

A woman of humility and respect for all people, Eileen offered advice using simple words and was a faithful and committed member of the Catholic Church. She had a deep love for all animals, but dogs and horses were especially dear to her.  Eileen enjoyed knitting, Irish music, playing cards and checkers.

 

Eileen will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where a visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 5-8 pm.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford.  Interment will take place at Mt. Ryan Cemetery, Johnstons River PEI.
