Obituary of Sheila Mary Ewasiuk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila M. Ewasiuk (Quinn), beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Sheila passed away peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown on Saturday, June 24, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Sheila was born in Charlottetown, grew up in Watervale, PE, moved to Toronto and worked there for 50 years in the Insurance sector, it was during this time she met her husband Andy. She returned to her beloved PEI with her son Andrew and her fur baby Keno in 2010.

Sheila was the cherished sister of Marion Morrison (Norbie), Danny Quinn (Bernadette), Faye MacLeod (Ian), Kevin Quinn (Debbie) and sister-in-law of Tammy Quinn.

She will be fondly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and by her extended family at St. John House. Predeceased by her parents Ivan & Vinie Quinn (Connolly), her husband John “Andy”, her son John Andrew, siblings Leo and Bernadette Quinn and by her niece Paulette Morrison.

Sheila was passionate about bingo, an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. She loved to sing along to country music, especially Johnny Reid.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 27, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Hillsboro Funeral Home in Stratford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at 10 am from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford with interment to follow in St. Patrick's Church Cemetery, Fort Augustus.  Our Lady of the Assumption CWL will hold a prayer service prior to the visitation at 3:15 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Association of PEI or the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.

We will always remember Sheila’s kind and loving spirit, her keen sense of humor and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
