Obituary of Katherine Lillian Mitton

Katherine “Kathy” Lillian Mitton (nee Ford) passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the age of 79 years.

Beloved wife of Harold “Hal” Mitton for 58 years. Dear mother of Dr. Gregory A. Mitton (Natalie), Stephen W. Mitton (Julie) and Robert K. Mitton. Nana of Darien, Shaul, Taylor, Kail, Jacob and Brier. Sister of Rosalie Grigg and Joy Palmer (David). Sister-in-law of Annie Riley (James), Lawrence Mitton (Phyllis), Alex Mitton (Shirley) and June Mitton. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law George Chase, Kenneth Mitton, Winston Grigg and by her sister-in-law Bernice DeRoches (Dolor).

Katherine trained and worked in the Provincial Lab in Charlottetown, PE, Fredericton, NB and Saint John, NB. She taught Medical Technology in Saint John, NB and was one of the first employees at the Atlantic Vet College in Charlottetown where she worked for 20 years managing the Anatomy and Physiology Suite and Diagnostic Suite and she was also the Radiation Safety Officer for the University of Prince Edward Island.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 am.  Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. A public visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 4-7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Stroke Unit.
