Obituary of Jack MacDonald

John “Jack” MacDonald, at Whisperwood Villa, formerly of Corran Ban, passed peacefully into the arms of his beloved wife, Joan and daughter, Joanne on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 – aged 95 years.

Jack was born on August 27, 1927, to the late George and Gertrude (MacCannell). He is also predeceased by his devoted wife Joan (Trainor) of 66 years, and precious daughter (Joanne) and by dear brothers and sisters, Hector, Nattie, Eleanor, Courtney and Imelda.

Cherished Father to George (Karen), Helen (Buddy) Sutherland, Brenda (Pat) Murtagh, Michael (Bernie Corrigan), Lennie (Carolyn) and Desi (Cathy), and son-in law, Allan Morrison.

Loving Grampy to 20 grandchildren and special Great Grampy to 26 great-grandchildren.

Jack was also survived by numerous dear nieces, nephews and special friends.

Jack was loved by many far and wide, and made numerous friends on his camping trips that he loved so much. He provided a place of comfort and joy for all in his home. He worked hard but never missed a party, and carried on through the diversities of life, always with the resolve to just keep going. His quiet faith was ever present, and his love for family and friends without compare. He will be missed immeasurably.

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford for visitation on Sunday, October 30 from 2-4 pm. Funeral service to be held at St. Bonaventure’s Church, Tracadie Cross on Monday, October 31 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made online to Whisperwood Villa, Residents Fund or the St. Michael’s Church Cemetery Fund, Corran Ban.

Interment to take place at St. Michael’s Church Cemetery, Corran Ban Cemetery.
