Obituary of Eugene Joseph McKenna

Peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge, Eldon on Thursday, September 22, 2022, the death occurred of Eugene Joseph McKenna of Orwell, age 95 years.  

 

Loving father of Jean Marie Goeseels (Joe), Andy McKenna (Patricia), Diane Morrison (Marty), Cathy MacPherson (Donald), Paula MacKenzie (Ross), Rita MacEachern (John), Clifford McKenna (Michele) and Joanne Ross (Baxter). Cherished grandfather of 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Eugene will be missed by his siblings Elva MacPherson, Noreen Bourque, Rose Hutchinson (Vince) and Gavin McKenna (Helen). Predeceased by his beloved wife Rose Marie (Morrissey) McKenna, daughters Sylvia McKenna, Eileen Doucette (Dave) and Janice Saunders (Mike). Also predeceased by his siblings Marie O’Brien (Martin), Rita Williams, Anne Rogers (Frank), Kathleen Kavanaugh (Bill), Eileen McKenna, Estelle Connolly (Leonard), Arthur McKenna (Catherine) and Merrill McKenna.

 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford from where visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5-8 pm. 

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, Vernon River on Saturday at 10:30 am. 

 

Memorial donations may be made online to St. Joachim’s Church Cemetery, Vernon River.
