Obituary of Eugene Lawrence Murnaghan

Peacefully at the Dr. John Gillis Lodge on Sunday, May 8, 2022 the death occurred of Eugene Murnaghan of Tarantum, age 74 years.

Eugene will be lovingly remembered and missed by his siblings - Beatrice Murnaghan, Leonard Murnaghan, Marlene Doiron, Genevieve Walker (Preston), Helen Panchuk (Robert), Thomas Murnaghan (Cathy), Leo Murnaghan, Barb Hennigar (Kevin), Cecil Murnaghan (Terry) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Betty (Alyward), parents Andrew and Mary (Doyle) Murnaghan; siblings Loretta Griffin, Kenny and Freddie Murnaghan, William and Patrick Murnaghan in infancy; brother-in-law Earl Doiron and sister-in-law Cindy Murnaghan. 

We extend to the staff of Gillis Lodge our gratitude for exemplary care of Eugene. 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home for visitation Thursday 6-8 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church, Fort Augustus. 

Interment at the Mount Ryan Cemetery.
