Steve was a great neighbour and a favourite place for our little gal to visit when Grace and Vayda were around. His nickname for our Ashlyn was "Ashes" and she thought it was great when he teased her with that name. I'll never forget one day that she went over to see if the girls were around to play, which they weren't, but Steve was floating around in the pool and invited Ashlyn to go for a swim. She quickly came home to ask and we said no problem, never had a second thought about. Later Steve sheepishly came over to apologize and said he probably shouldn't have invited her when the girls weren't around, he just knew how much she loved being in there. We never thought twice about it being anything but neighbourly! His kindness flowed everywhere.....
