So sorry to hear of this great loss. I met Eileen while I was undergoing cancer treatment. She was a beautiful light of a person who always took the time for a quick chat along with some inspirational advice. She had the biggest heart and I genuinely feel like she contributed to my success in treatment. She lightened the mood, was always smiling (which is not common in the CTC) and I always looked forward to seeing her come along.I’m sure she has had an impact so many more as her personality was the best.
May you rest peacefully sweet Eileen

I had the privilege of working with Eileen at the Cancer Treatment Centre. Eileen was always so kind towards everyone she met and took great pride in her work. She always had the patients in the forefront, as well as the staff. Eileen was always concerned about me through two of my pregnancies, always telling me “to not work too hard” and “leave early”. She was a kind soul who was a dedicated employee. I will not forget her and how she made me feel. My sympathies, Megan Smallwood

My sincere condolences to Eileen’s family. I had the privilege of working with Eileen at the Cancer Treatment Center. She kept the place spotless and took such pride in her work. She also cared for us as nurses. I particularly remember the concern and care she showed to me when my mom was ill and passed away. She will be missed.

Eileen always brightened my day whenever I seen her at the Qeh . Whether as a coworker or caregiver taking family into the cancer treatment department. She always welcomed me with a punch on the arm and then a gentle grip to my hand smiling and asking me how I was. Her touch always was so warm and sincere. Eileen you will be missed beyond words. Condolences to the family from Inez Duffy and Jen Vandeeaa.

I had the great privilege of working with Eileen at the PEICTC for the past 18 years. I sincerely don’t think I’ve ever met a more dedicated public servant. She looked after the physical space as if it were her very own , always respected the patients with careful dignity and took time to show interest in us as coworkers. Eileen will be missed greatly. It was an honour to call her friend.

My condolences to Eileen’s family and friends. I worked with Eileen at the PEI Cancer Treatment Center. Eileen never missed a beat, if something was out of place or something new arrived she noticed it right away. She worked so hard and took pride in her work and it did not go unnoticed. I will miss teasing you and our chats about life outside of work. I loved getting to know you and will miss seeing you.

Eileen was a force like no other. I had the privilege of her friendship for over 10 years now since moving back to PEI and working at the Cancer Centre. She was not too fond of having her photo taken so to have a couple precious ones of her is priceless. She loved flowers (amongst many other things) and we loved giving them to her.
We ( the gang in Radiation Therapy) have far too many memories to write here, and knowing Eileen she will smack me one last time in my sleep if I share them, so I will leave those gifts in my memory bank.
I LOVE YOU Eileen and will miss our daily chats, laughs, arm wrestles and never ending support you gave me.
Have a cup of tea ready for me Eileen when it is my turn and we will catch up then. Until then … hugs and love my sweet friend. Xoxoxox

Eileen's family - It is always hard to know what to write to express our feelings at times of loss. I came upon this poem and I can actually hear Eileen saying these words:
Dear friends I go but do not weep, I’ve lived my life so full and deep. Throughout my life I did my best, I’ve earned my keep, I’ve earned my rest. I never tried to be great or grand, I tried to be a helping hand.
It was more than repaid by good friends I have known and if I went the extra mile, I did it with pleasure it was all worthwhile. If I brightened your path then let it be a small contribution from me. I leave you and travel alone through a mystic veil to the great unknown with such beautiful memories that will forever be the way that I hope you’ll remember me.
Good bye my friend. Rest in Peace
Theresa & Reggie Laverty

She loved buying all her Christmas gifts. She always asked about my children. A hardworking and great lady. My condolences to Eileen famy
