Hey broertje..
I can't seem to find the words to describe how I feel. I tried to write something for days and now the time has come, I cant ignore it anymore, I cant pretend it anymore... I have to say goodbye. I have to say goodbye to the most annoying little brother in life. You cracked my piggy bank (twice!), you made fun of all my friends, you were the only emergency room VIP guest ever and never on time for dinner. We went fishing, skating, swimming, climbing trees, playing tennis and a lot more. We were always outside... One year, we spent the whole summer building a tree house in Jeugdland and at the end of the summer, there was a huge sleep-over. All kids with treehouses could stay over and enjoy the camp fire, marshmallows and scary stories. I was ashamed I was there with my little brother, that night, I wished you weren't there... Today, I wish we could go back in time, to the treehouse and spent some time together as kids. I would have put my arm around you and enjoyed the moment, the memories we would create. I hope you know I followed each step of your life from a distance. I watched your kids growing up, you finding a purpose in life... I followed each up and down, struggle and joy. I hope you find some peace up there... I will not join you for a long time but when I do, I will make sure to make up for all the years we missed. X- your Big Sister.
