My sincere condolences to everyone in Tom’s Family. As a young architect just starting out on PEI, Tom was one of the first builders I was fortunate to work with over the years on many projects. I have always held him in high regard. I will remember Tom as patient, trustworthy and always a gentleman. He will be dearly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

We were saddened to hear of Tom’s death, sending our deepest sympathy to the Gill Family, we know what a great person he was and that there will be a tough time dealing with his loss. We got to know Tom in 2006 after moving back to the Island and buying a house in Stratford that needed renovations. We left that winter for a few months and Tom and his crew went to work on the house...we were very pleased with the outcome...our only problem was getting an invoice from Tom... we liked to keep on top of the payments but Tom was in no rush. He had a great sense of humour and we so enjoyed his stories. We have fond memories of Tom.

We were so saddened when we heard of Tom’s illness. Days later Adrian called Tom and although he wasn’t doing so well, he still had things he wanted to get done. Tom was one of our first customers when we started our company eleven years ago. Tom we will never forget you kindness, encouragement and sincerity but above all we will always cherish your friendship. To Nancy, Carsen and his children and siblings, our deepest condolences. The first time I meet Tom I was as a student from Cornwall. We were bused to Birchwood school for industrial arts class. He was a tall soft spoken man. It became a class I looked forward to attending. From learning how to work with my hand. To accomplishing a wood working task. Late on in life I got to deal with Tom again as a small time contractor doing some add summer time jobs. Well it didn't take long for Toms name to get out there as a carpenter that you wanted. Which soon lead to him to make a decision to either teach full time or become a full time carpenter. A decision allot of people were glad he made. It was a great pleasure through the years to have known Tom, and he will truly be missed by all who he touched in life. Prayers go out to his wife and family.

Nancy and family-----Gill brothers and sisters and families-----It seems we are always writing messages of sympathy these days...this one I write with a tear in my eye. I know how much your husband, Dad and brother meant to you all. My deceased sister, Marion, who was in St Teresa's school with Tommy, called him 'the TeddyBear' because he was a good listener and always made people feel better. He continued that trend in his adult years. No matter how busy he was, Tommy always took time to stop and chat and was genuinely interested in how we were doing! He built his family, his community, and his company with love and foresight believing they were made to last! Your wonderful memories of Tommy will serve as warm 'teddybear' hugs that can help you through the difficult times ahead. R.I.P Tommy Gill.....you are now on St Josephs's heavenly crew.

I first met Tom Gill while a student at Birchwood Junior High School. He was an industrial arts teacher who ran a tight ship in class, and rightfully so, with all us naive, know-it-all students running about. Years later while working in the construction industry, I saw tom on a regular basis. He always exercised decorum, and he was a master at his craft of building from the basement, to the roof. We shall not anytime soon, see his kind again. Peace in Christ, Tom.

We wish to extend our sincere sympathy to Nancy, and all of the Gill Family, with the sudden passing of Tommy. Tommy was well respected in the Construction Industry, and also in his community, and his parish. He was very generous, especially with those in need. I remember when my brother, Leo was diagnosed with Cancer, and wasn’t able to work, my husband Ian was involved with a Benefit for Leo. He no sooner mentioned it to Tommy, when Tommy wrote him a cheque for a large amount to help with the Benefit. I thought that was so generous of him! He was very generous with the needy, especially during the Christmas season. He will truly be missed by all, who knew and loved him. May he Rest In Peace.

Tom was a wonderful man whom I met during our home construction. He was kind and supportive and someone I trusted immensely. His passing is a great loss for his family, friends and the community. Sending my sincere condolences.
He was so kind to my children, they still look for his red truck around town. We called him the gentle giant at my house.

To the family of Tom Gill. As being a cousin of Nancy's i always knew Tom but it wasn't til we had a fire and needed house plans and all that goes with it that I really got to see the man he was. Tom and Carson went beyond anything Kenny and I could ever imagine to help us and built our beautiful home. Tom was a great man and Carson will carry on the family business with the respect and pride his father took in his work. Our deepest sympathy and Prayers Olive & Ken Drake
