When the Browns opened the first McDonalds in Sussex, we felt that we had finally made it to be a real town. Little did we know just how much this man Fred and his family would contribute to the growth, development and well-being of Sussex and the profound effect they would have on so many. Fred’s work ethic and insistence on doing things well and then improving upon that was well bred into his employees. His and Mrs. Browns kindnesses and support for people created an atmosphere that made working and/or eating there a great experience. They taught the best efficiencies and insisted on the very best in all aspects of business and hospitality. We watched our son Ryan learn and grow at McDonalds where he developed good business practices that helped him open his own success story with the strength and confidence of a Fred Brown. We are grateful for this and realize that Mr. and Mrs. Brown must have helped so many other young entrepreneurs over the years.
We offer our condolences to Fred’s family and friends and salute him for a life well lived!
