Obituary of Cornelia Johanna Schellen

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge, Eldon on Saturday, December 26 2020, of Cornelia Johanna "Cora" Schellen (VanVught) of Hermitage, age 94 years. Cora is now re-united again in heaven with her beloved husband of 68 years, Cornelius Schellen who predeceased her in January 2019. Loving mother of Geraldine MacDougall (Dan), Andy Schellen (Judy), Joanne Redmond (Bill), Cathy Conohan (Leroy), Garnet Schellen (Sheryl), Karen Roche (Leonard), and Dalie Schellen (Doug Pollett). Cherished grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her brother in law Francis Schellen. Cora was predeceased by her parents Adrian and Joanna (Denesson) VanVught, her grandson Michael Schellen and 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due to current restrictions a family visitation and Funeral Mass will be held. Interment will take place at St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Vernon River. Memorial donations may be made online to St. Joachim’s Restoration Fund.
