Obituary of Ursula MacDonald
Ursula MacDonald (Morrissey), age 95 years of Pleasant Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family and the prayers of her relatives and friends. Grandmother of Mark Wilson (Tasha), Stuart Wilson (Julianne), Neil Wilson, Nicholas Wilson (Lindsey), Jennifer Matthews (Derek), Kellie Davis (Jeremy), David MacDonald, Tina MacDonald, Tammy Gallant and Keith Laurence as well as Terri Bontempo and numerous great-grandchildren. Born in East Royalty on December 3, 1924 Ursula was the daughter of the late Wendelin and Frances (MacDonald) Morrissey. Ursula graduated from Prince of Wales College in 1943 with a Teacher’s Certificate and cherished her teaching career that lasted 35 years. Ursula’s faith, family and students formed the pillars of her life. She and John raised their family in "the Grove", and they loved to have family and friends to their home. As Ursula aged her body became frail and her strength diminished, but with great courage she lived the exhortation of the poet, Dylan Thomas, to "Rage, rage against the dying of the light." When she did yield, Ursula did so with grace and dignity and with the support of family, love and prayers. Ursula is survived by her dear sisters Pauline McCabe (Lewis, deceased), Lorraine Morrison (Kenneth) and sister in law Elizabeth-Betty MacDonald (Leonard, deceased) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Walter, Myron, Orwell and Cyril and sisters, Sister Florence, C.N.D, Zita Stewart (Allison, deceased), Sister Claire, C.N.D and Leona. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will be in the St. Michaels Church Cemetery, Corran Ban.
