Whalen: J. Victor “Vic” Peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Monday, December 17, 2018 of J. Victor “Vic” Whalen of Stratford, age 75 years. Loving husband of Joyce (nee Ross). Dear father of Paul (Sheila), Calgary, AB and Robert (Joy), Uxbridge, Ont. Stepfather of Ross Arsenault (Linda), Halifax, NS, Marian Curran (Robert), St. Albert, AB, Christine Arsenault (Christopher Deer), Ottawa, Ont., Sharon Kerckaert (Ed), Grand Prairie, AB. Grandfather of Kylie Anne and Mitchell Whalen and step grandfather of Jordan and Vanessa Daly, St Albert, AB, Adam Arsenault, Edmonton, AB and Paige Kerckaert, Grand Prairie AB. Survived by 4 greatgrandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews. Brother of Flona Sams, Brookside, NS, Janice Oickle (Miles), Prospect, NS, David Whalen (Jackie), Sambro, NS. and Kevin Whalen (Camy), Hatchet Lake, NS. Brother in law of Shirley Arsenault (Clair) and Gail Ross. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Rita (Arsenault) Whalen, his son-in-law Alexander Sams and sister-in-law Brenda Arsenault (Robert). Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home. 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at a later date at Our Lady of Assumption Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Hospice P.E.I. would be appreciated. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
