Obituary of Gladys Mary Smith

Peacefully with her family at her side at the Provincial Palliative Care on Friday, October 12, 2018, of Gladys Smith (nee McGuirk) of Stratford, age 84 Yrs. Beloved wife of John Smith and loving mother of Helen Hill (Scott), Joseph Smith (Katherine), Carol Ann Power (Kenny), Phyllis Smith, Stephen Smith (Kathy), Blair Smith (Joanne) and Ian Smith (Janice). Gladys is also survived by Grandchildren - Jason, Lindsay. Jessica, Sean, Kaitlyn, Darren, Andrew, Michael, Emily, Amy, Nicholas, Madelynne, Megan and Emily; Great-Grandchildren - Emma, Lucas, Alexia, Sadie and Isaac; sister - Shirley McManus and brothers - John McGuirk (Florence) and Gordon McGuirk (Mary). She was predeceased by her parents - Henry and Stella (nee Kneabone) McGuirk, sisters - Doris, Tena, Isabel, Bertha, Pearl, Eileen and Rosemary and brothers - Gerald, Clifford, Ralph, Elmer, Eric and Ivan. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Monday, October 15 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 16 at Our Lady of The Assumption Church, Stratford at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at the Church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Provincial Palliative Care would be appreciated. Our Lady of The Assumption CWL will hold a prayer service on Monday evening at the funeral home at 6:30 P.M. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
