Obituary of Martinus Anthonius Halman

At the Mount Continuing Care Community on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 of Martin Halman of Charlottetown, and formerly of Johnston’s River, age 88 years. Beloved husband of Johanna (Joan) Halman for 62 years and loving father of Betsy O’Brien (Louis), Anne Monaghan, Margaretha Byrne (Patrick), Diane Halman (Steve), Louise Verleun (Peter), John (Tammy) and Marty (Donna). Martin will be lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Tommy Byrne, 3 sisters-in-law, 2 sisters and 1 brother in the Netherlands, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Jackie and brothers - Nicholas, Mannus and Ralph and 3 sisters in the Netherlands. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Church, Fort Augustus at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Patrick’s Cemetery or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
