Dave, I was sorry to read of your mother’s passing. While I didn’t know her, I know from our brief chats at the Palliative Care Centre that she was a special woman. As a rug hooker, I especially enjoyed your description of her lugging bins of rugs and supplies to and fro. My thoughts are with you and your family.

A short note to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. May you find peace in knowing Mrs. Robbins lived a full life, filled with love and pride of family. May she soars with the eagles and be reunited with those who went before.

Condolences to Natalie and Dave Robbins and the entire family! My heart is saddened to hear that Marion has passed on… but deep down how can someone be sad for a lady that had such a long, amazing, loving, fun-fulfilled life! Marion cherished her children, grandchildren and great, but there is no doubt in my mind that they cherished her every bit as much! She was such an inspiration… making the most of each and everyday! My heart feels blessed to have known Marion and there is not one negatIve thing I can say about her. Her love for each and every day was evident and she lived it to the fullest… loving her family, participating in the markets (selling her stunning hooked rugs), participating in cards/games with family/friends and she still had that very competitive edge, but it served her well as she was hard to beat! The times we would visit her, she always made us feel so comfortable and a top notch hostess! Marion… you lived a life many could only hope for… I know you are smiling as you are once again wrapped in Elwood’s arms! Our loss is heavens gain!

My father Doug, Marion’s brother is very saddened with the loss of his sister. At 91, he finds it difficult to get around and is unable to attend her funeral. He wanted to convey his sympathy to Marion’s loved ones so we sat down and started reminiscing of our times together in P.E.I..
Marion was quiet yet she loved to tell a story and have a good laugh. She was overly generous with her hospitality .There was always room with her and Elwood when we went home to visit. Marion was the best cook and would prepare the most delicious dinners. As a large family, we had many visits to the island and we would love to gather at the old homestead. Sundays after church,we would all head to Selkirk Beach for a swim and a clam bake. Marion was very talented and she hooked the old farmhouse and her grandfather’ ship the Lucy Pope for us. These rugs will keep those memories and stories alive.
She was an amazing person and was loved by all.
Marion I am going to miss our phone calls…Rest In Peace my dear sister!
Doug and Heather

Marion was such a beautiful and kind woman, who was one of the best friends of my mom. It means everything to us that the kids became best of friends and were able to feel comfortable in each other‘s homes as if they were our own. Lots of memories of good laughs, delicious homemade meals, baking, etc., during visits and sleepovers. I’ll think of her this Christmas when I see the Christmas candy she usually had in the fancy dishes. So involved with her family and community, she brought a gracious and calm presence that was wonderful to be around. Sending love to her family at this time. Donna, Rob, Maggie & Malcolm
