Obituary of Shirley Irene Wood

Peacefully, with family by her side on Friday, November 8, 2024 the death occurred of Shirley Irene Wood (MacDonald) of Stratford, age 94 years. 

Shirley is profoundly missed by her children Carolyn, Linda (Bill), and Andrew as well as her four grandchildren Alastair, Alannah, Niall and Caitlin. She is also mourned and fondly remembered by former son-in-law Andrew Henry, her neice Debbie Wood Salter and two grand nephews, David and Robert Salter, her nephews David Wood and Donald Wood and their families. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, A. Blake Wood and her son Alan.

Shirley is resting at the Hillsboro Funeral Home and a celebration of her life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. Andrew's United Church, Vernon Bridge, PEI. The ceremony will be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/standrewsvernonbridge/

A reception will be held at the church after the service.

Memorial donations may be made online to Doctors Without Borders, Nature Conservancy of Canada (PEI) or the Canadian Mental Health Association (PEI). Flowers for the service are also welcome.
