John and Margaret and Billy and especially, Phillip,
Roger and I have known Tye for close to 30 years. We first met Tye as a young teenager wanting to do drag and wanting to help with Pride. We were online friends in chat groups and various social programs. Facebook has allowed us to keep in touch and reach out to one another from time to time. Tye brought a passion for Drag to everything he did and we loved him for that. Tye also worked for many years at Dairy Queen, including the years Emily (Roger's daughter) worked there...They got on well as they were very close in age and had Roger and I in common, as Emily was a big ally to the gay community, since her dads (as she called us) were gay. They have been friends ever since. Emily passes along her condolences and wishes she could attend his wake. While I haven't seen much of Tye the last couple of years, we still stayed in touch and he will be deeply missed.
