I met Tyler when he was working for a cleaning company that included our offices. We chatted every day & the topics of conversation could start & end pretty well anywhere. He would tell me about some new purchases he bought for his shows & offered me some fashion tips too....lol. Such a bright young man with a zest for life. I'm so, so sorry to hear that he has passed. Condolences to Tyler's family and friends

I send my deepest of sympathies to your family at this tragic time but rest assure his memory will carry on.
I had the privilege to work with Tye (at tims) and we became, more than coworkers, instant friends.
I wish that I could've been there for the funeral but unfortunately had to work.

John and Margaret and Billy and especially, Phillip,
Roger and I have known Tye for close to 30 years. We first met Tye as a young teenager wanting to do drag and wanting to help with Pride. We were online friends in chat groups and various social programs. Facebook has allowed us to keep in touch and reach out to one another from time to time. Tye brought a passion for Drag to everything he did and we loved him for that. Tye also worked for many years at Dairy Queen, including the years Emily (Roger's daughter) worked there...They got on well as they were very close in age and had Roger and I in common, as Emily was a big ally to the gay community, since her dads (as she called us) were gay. They have been friends ever since. Emily passes along her condolences and wishes she could attend his wake. While I haven't seen much of Tye the last couple of years, we still stayed in touch and he will be deeply missed. Deepest condolences to you all and to all his friends and family, including his chosen family! Godspeed, Tye! Rest in peach, dear friend. Troy Perrot-Sanderson and Roger Sanderson

Please accept our sincere condolence on the loss of your son. Children are not supposed to leave this world before their parents! May the memories you share as a family sustain you through this very difficult time. Unfortunately, we cannot attend his wake/ funeral and give you hugs as I have specialist appointments at the same time. Virtual hugs will have to do!

On behalf of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada team, I extend my sincerest condolences to Tye's family and friends. He was part of our little "PHamily" for only a short time, but he revealed his warm and joyous nature to us right away. We are all heartbroken by your loss. He was a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed, even by a bunch of random strangers he only ever met on the internet. That's how big a heart Tye had - it spread love far beyond PEI. We can't imagine your grief, but we do share it and will use it to continue our fight against PAH.
Sincerely,
Jamie Myrah

Tye was an absolute delight to be around and a fierce Queen. This is a photo I took at one of the drag shows where he was in the audience. Always humble and always kind. My little granddaughters were at a show and Alexas Styles gave the youngest her candy crown she wore in her performance. It is still in her bedroom as a cherished belonging. I am so very sorry for this tragic loss. Our world is a little darker but the heavens are brighter with his presence.

Tyler was one of the first queer people I ever had the pleasure of knowing here on PEI. Before Drag was mainstream Tyler was out being proud, living loudly and setting an example for the your queers of PEI. The legacy of Alexas will live on, and we are incredibly grateful for Tyler's work in the community. Incredibly heartbroken by his untimely passing. Fly high, Tye. You'll be missed <3

I didn't know Tye super well. However, seven years ago I was struggling with my mental health and off work and trying to find ways to connect with community and get back into creative work. I had just gotten a new camera and wanted to try it out at a local drag show. Alexas and a few other performers allowed me to take their photos and this photo below has since become a favorite of mine. It reminds me of the beauty in the queer community and this experience was a small part of helping me find myself again. I owe Tye gratitude for being generous with time and presence. Tye was so appreciative of the photo and we had lots of chats over Instagram about it. I also used to remember him working at the Mary Brown's near where I was living at the time. In the few times I got to meet / chat with him, he was always so kind, funny, and thoughtful. My condolences to friends and family. I know Tye/Alexas is missed by many. He is gone too soon!
