Obituary of Elmer Earl MacKinnon
The death occurred, surrounded by friends and family, at the Kings County Memorial Hospital, Montague on Friday Jan 5, 2024 of Elmer Earl MacKinnon, of Montague, PEI and formerly Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta after a long difficult battle with cancer, aged 64 years. Born in Drayton Valley, Alberta May 1, 1959 the son of the late Stanley and Velda MacKinnon. Survived by his brother Greg (Debbie) and sisters Debbie and Joanne as well as several nephews and nieces. Elmer was a lifelong trucker and biker. Well known for some pretty spectacular crashes as a young man, one of his proudest attainments later in life was a 30 year “flawless” driving record. In younger days he was also known for regularly “blowing the doors off” bigger men on bigger bikes at the drags and would laughingly quip “Did you ever see a 200 pound jockey?” when asked about his success. Elmer spent the majority of the last 20 years in Alberta returning to PEI in October 2021 to begin his long and valiant battle with cancer.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home. No visitation or funeral service by personal request. Interment later at Lower Montague and a memorial service to be held at a later date.
