Obituary of Paula Maria Elizabeth Gillan

The death occurred at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown on Monday, October 30, 2023 of Paula Maria Gillan of Stratford, age 69 years.  

Paula is survived by her sister Rosemary, brother James Patrick and brother-in-law Stuart Shepherd.  She is remembered with love by her nieces, nephews, special cousin Mary, and special friend Marie.  Predeceased by her parents James Stewart and Mary (Babe McMahon) Gillan of Charlottetown and in November 2022, her sister Anna Marie Shepherd.

Paula spent most of her working life in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.  She was very proud when the Government of the Northwest Territories featured her in a nationwide poster promoting working in the North.  Paula enjoyed the community and was involved in ski doo racing, fishing, and her beloved horses.  Paula loved the beautiful Northern Lights.  Paula was well known for her love of all animals.  She leaves behind her beloved dog Bella and cat Taylor who will be very well cared for in their new home. 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown with a graveside service on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 3:30 pm.  All are welcome to attend. 

There will be a Celebration of Life at The Haviland Club, Charlottetown at a later date.
